Send him/her off with a special note to congratulate or inspire.  The Manhattan Foundation for Educational Excellence has an exciting opportunity for you to publicly congratulate your future eighth grader on their advancement into high school.  Your child’s name, along with your message, will be listed in the Manhattan School District Calendar, that will become a keepsake of this special time in your child’s life.  As always, the calendar will be given free of charge to all the families of children in the school district.  (See the front inside cover in the current calendar to see last year’s congratulations).

We are proud to announce that last year’s Foundation calendar raised over $29,000!  With these funds, we were able to purchase many items for the district such as additional Guided Reading and teacher resource materials for Anna McDonald; gym banners, fitness systems, and euphoniums for the Junior High; and musical instruments for Wilson Creek.  In addition, the Foundation purchased $9,000 in new books for the Junior High library, provided funding for social studies and science resource centers for Wilson Creek, and funded a teacher resource center at Anna McDonald.  As always, the Foundation’s mission is to continue to fund programs and purchase supplies outside of budget constraints.  In doing so, we are providing each child a fuller and more rewarding educational experience.

You can help by purchasing a spot in next year’s calendar and reminding your future graduate how proud you are of his or her accomplishments.
