| | Fundraising Initiatives BERKOT's SUPER FOODS - Community Involvement -"SCHOOL COUPON DAYS" - In 2009 the Foundation teamed up with BERKOT's to offer shopper coupons to be use on scheduled days. When a Shopper uses the School Coupon, Berkot's donates 5% of the sale (Some item restrictions exist) to the Foundation. Art Keepsake -2007-2009, the Foundation, the School District's Art Department and Square 1 Artwork teamed up to offer an exciting new fundraiser. This project will give parents the opportunity to have their child's artwork transferred onto keepsake items such as tote-bags, tiles, cups, mouse pads etc. This fundraiser will target Wilson Creek and Anna McDonald student artwork created from their respective art programs. Mrs. Ambrosini and Mrs. Lamar prepared the curriculum, structured art themes and supplied the children's artwork to Square 1. Square 1 then provides each student with a sample of his/her artwork on a magnet, thus allowing parents to order the artwork on a variety of keepsake items offered for sale by the company. School Pocket Calendar - In 2007, the Foundation designed the district's school pocket calendar. This calendar was designed so parents could have important dates such as early dismissals and days off in a portable version. Businesses were able to place ads in this calendar as well as in the larger school calendar. Personalized Plaque Fundraiser - In 2006, the Foundation began working on a Plaque Fundraiser. A plaque was purchased for each of the three schools in the district in the shape of a flag. Money was raised through the sale of plates purchased by school district families for the plaques displayed at each school. Download the order form. School Supply Kit - In 2004, the Foundation began offering parents with the opportunity to purchase school supply kits customized for each grade level. The percentage of money raised through this service is minimal, but every penny earned adds up! School Calendar Fundraiser - Since 2003 the foundation has been designing and distributing the district's school calendar. Money is raised through the sale of ad space within the calendar to local businesses and citizens. Download the Proud Business Sponsor order form or Download the Proud Home Based Business order form. Back to School Celebration and Yearbook - In 2003 and 2002, the foundation sponsored a back to school dance held at the Temporary Banquet Hall in Manhattan. Money was raised through ticket sales, a 50/50 raffle and through the sale of ad space in a yearbook created for the dance. Fill Our Classrooms Week - In 2004, the foundation asked families in the district to "clean out" at home and send their used books, puzzles, and games to the school. Over 2,300 items were donated to the schools / teachers in the district. Balmoral Park Outing - In 1999, a fundraising event was held at Balmoral Park. Funds were raised through ticket sales and a 50/50 raffle. School Dances - In 1999, 2 school dances were sponsored by the foundation. One was held at the junior high and one at the elementary school. Bulls Skybox Ticket Raffle - In 1997, the foundation raised $3,200 by raffling off donated skybox tickets to a Chicago Bulls game. Commemorative Pavers - Beginning in 1997 and completed in 2000, personalized brick pavers were sold and laid in front of Anna McDonald elementary school.
