| 2011 - 2012 Memorial Scholarship Program The Manhattan Foundation for Educational Excellence for School District 114 is proud to sponsor a Memorial Scholarship Program honoring Don Neighbors, a former Manhattan School Board Trustee, and Ryan Palesh a former teacher of Manhattan Jr. High. Two scholarships of $250 each will be awarded to a male and a female student from the Manhattan Jr. High Graduating Class of 2011. The scholarship awardees selected will be individuals who exemplify academic effort, school leadership and community service.
Determination of these scholarships will be at the discretion of the Board of the Manhattan Foundation for Educational Excellence. The scholarships will be awarded in the form of a check payable to the individual in whom funds are intended to help offset high school tuition.
**The student must have been a full-time student at Manhattan Jr. High for the entire 8th grade school year 2011-2012**
Students who apply must submit a typed essay explaining what makes them the most deserving candidate for this scholarship.
