| Our Mission The Manhattan Foundation for Educational Excellence is a not-for-profit organization supporting School District #114 in Manhattan, IL. The district currently includes three schools, Wilson Creek Elementary School, Anna McDonald Elementary School and Manhattan Junior High School. Together these schools service approximately 1,280 students. The Foundation was formed in 1997 in order to generate supplemental funds for the school district to meet needs that are not within the constraints of the current operating budget. Various fundraising projects are conducted throughout the school year; profits from these fundraisers help to finance projects and items which directly enhance the education of students in the district. The Foundation hosts an annual school calendar fund-raising project. The Foundation distributes a 'free' school calendar to each participating school district family. 100% of the proceeds from the calendar are used to provide District #114 students and faculty with educational supplies and equipment beyond what the school budget allows. The Foundation is open to citizens interested in improving the education of children in the Manhattan Schools. We are currently seeking new members to join the foundation to help accomplish our lofty goals. Come join us our we meet monthly during the school year at 6 p.m. in the Manhattan Junior High School Library. 2011 - 2012 Meeting Schedule January 12th February 9th March 8th April 19th May 10th Contact Kelly Honan at bhonan@aol.com for more information.
